NFL Commish Roger Goodell is Just Fine

NFL’s Twitter gets hacked, causes uproar

We hate when Twitter accounts get hacked. (Good time to mention our handle -> @pfmguys )

It’s really trolling at its worst. I mean, it’s the shortest of all practical jokes, it can hurt family members and friends, but most of all – it’s not funny.

Earlier today the @NFL Twitter displayed this:

As it turns out, it was a hoax, as so many #RIPs on Twitter are. It prompted this story in USA Today

When asked about the veracity of the tweet, NFL spokesman Greg Aiello told USA TODAY in an email, “Not true. Hacked.”

Brian McCarthy, another NFL spokesman, tweeted from his account (@NFLprguy) that the NFL’s official Twitter account was hacked and that Goodell “is alive and well.”

A subsequent tweet from the NFL’s official account referencing Goodell – which was soon deleted — suggested that the account was still hacked.

The tweet read: “Oi, I said Roger Goodell has died. Don’t delete that tweet.”

The NFL’s account also tweeted a third time … “OK, OK, you amateur detectives win. Good job.”

Look we may not agree on all of his policies or procedures, but goodness, I would never wish ill will on the man.

So, in light of the Commissioner’s new lease on life, here is a song to honor the man, the myth, the legend.
